There Goes The Bride

Rain on the wedding day
In hindsight cruelly apt
The vows like a prison
In which you were trapped
A million raindrops
Cascaded in torrents
Each one a precursor
For the tears of the future

An album of photos
Smiles frozen in a moment
A gnawing reminder
A mocking momento

The wine flowed
Left a stain on the dress
The blows rained
Left a stain on your heart

Two became one
Which soon became three
The lies, the pain
The crushing deceit
First the cracks
Then the splinters
Then total collapse
Emotional breakdown
