Sometimes

Sometimes it seems you take great delight
In turning my summer days as black as night
I sometimes think you get pleasures untold
In turning my warmth into icy cold

Sometimes it seems you get tremendous joy
From treating me like an old broken toy
I sometimes feel that you would cherish
Making me the victim of your darkest wish

Sometimes it seems like your golden ticket
Would be seeing me dragged naked through the thicket
I sometimes think that your heart sings
When my angel is grounded with clipped wings

Sometimes it seems you swell with pride
By being the huge thorn in my side
I sometimes think that you feel real smart
By tearing my ragged heart apart

Sometimes it seems that you exist
To taunt me 'bout all the chances I missed
I sometimes think you hear a heavenly choir
As you add extra fuel to my funeral pyre
